Journey through Germany

Nice surprise on Hull to Rotterdam ferry as got upgraded to top floor cabin with 4 beds and a window – perhaps P&O were trying to make up for the rubbish ferry last year to Santander that was being taken out of service the following week and it looked like it!

Then pretty tedious drive through Germany but made more bearable by absence of tolls until a short bit in Italy – after France and Spain bankrupting charges over the last few years it was a big relief to the travel budget!

Stayed overnight in lovely B&B in Memmingen, a lovely old town with medieval market square

and relaxing atmosphere.  Staying there for 2 nights on way back, so didn’t explore too much, but lovely meal in best continental style outside popular cafe/bar watching the world go by.

Just a few hours via Austrian mountains to Sexten where set up our trusty tent one more time

and started another camping trip – wonder how many more are in the tank?
